6.1.6 Exploring Early Uncertainty in the Product-Market Fit Triad

The product-market fit canvases (i.e. large posters) are a specially formatted visual facilitation tool for teams to explore new opportunities through the product-market fit triad. You can download the three canvases (problem, solution, and business model) (figure 6.4) from the resource section of www.agile-excellence.com. When printed, each one is three feet wide by five feet tall. Hang them on the wall in a big open room and gather the team around. The team can write directly on the canvas with magic markers, or use sticky notes. Using sticky notes makes it easier to evolve the idea. Once the team completes its exploration, take a photo to capture your work or copy it off on a worksheet. Then, clear the canvases and work through additional scenarios. The output of the effort should be:

team alignment on the opportunity

identification of the largest assumptions being made and areas of highest uncertainty.

The necessary input for the development of a learning plan, which is described in Chapter 7: Purposeful Learning.
